Pagan Assault Interview (September 2022)
KFD is the core member of Pagan Assault (folk black metal), Anthropophobe (depressive black metal) and Hippie Zani (punk-rock). He is also known as a writer as Fabrice L’Insatiable. He answered the following questions about his music and world vision in September 2022.
Why choosing English for this interview, though you are French?
White France is dead. There are now more French speakers in Africa than in the whole Northern hemisphere. Are Africans concerned with my message ? I don’t think so. If you want to address the majority of White people today, you have to speak English, Spanish or Russian.
Why this relative silence in social media since the latest 2014 interview?
First of all, I left Paris in 2018 and I now live in rural areas. This has two consequences : I don’t spend as much time as before in front of a computer, and I can’t manage my commercial stock since I don’t have a stable place.
Moreover, I don’t like spending the whole day on internet, I prefer outdoor group activities, like sport or exploring new places.
What has changed in your life, other than your residence?
I started a family. I found out that I like to spend time with young children, especially boys. Nothing sexual here. Children are morally innocent, eager to learn and easy to influence.
And professionally?
I still don’t have a stable job. I devote my free time to my artistic projects.
What are your thoughts about Celts?
Their gene pool forms the root of the majority of French people and that’s why they are so fucked up. Celts are lazy, selfish, stupid, anarchists, atheists, nihilists, supremacists and losers (read any interview from any French satanist/patriotic black metal band and you’ll see my point). They’ve been losing all battles for nearly 2500 years now and that’s why they hate themselves and everyone over them. Let them follow their natural way to self-extinction and perhaps the White race might eventually get the head out of the water.
And about the White race?
Most White women yearn for the White race’s extinction, in thoughts and actions. And nearly all religions/ideologies created or spread by White European people tend to value freedom of choice and equality between men and women. Thus I will say that White people are at the same time the greatest pioneers of humanity and the biggest danger for themselves.
But soon the Eastern mentality will take over this European individualism. Let’s hope the White race will be able to survive this change without losing too much of its great qualities.
How would you define yourself today from a political and religious point of view?
From a political point of view, I am a traditionalist.
From a religious point of view, I am half-Christian half-Pagan. I believe in God but I’m not sure if He is the only one. What I’m sure about is that He created us and He gave each of us a place in His hierarchy. So I will respect His Holy Plans.
So, you’re not a Pagan anymore? Why keep the name Pagan Assault then?
I realized and accepted that contemporary Pagans have little to no existence in the real world. Most modern Pagans are chauvinistic or leftist losers who hate Christians because Christians have monuments, churches, cults, dogmas and so on. Modern Pagans don’t have anything at all, except Facebook pages and websites. It’s a shame that they didn’t manage to build a single community or temple in more than three decades. They are just the symptom of a dying civilization. A bunch of idiots who need to be recalled who is the true Master. For there is only one Master. And He will judge us all.
As for Pagan Assault, well, the message didn’t change too much. I already expressed Christian sentiments on Cruce Signati split. For me, the opposition between Christians and Pagans belongs to the past. Any European should be proud of their Christian and Pagan roots.
Do you still consider that you have a role to play in the black metal scene?
Of course. Black metal is all about canalizing negative energy (negative = black). I still have lots of negative energy to express, because there are so many traitors, cowards and liars around me… I feel like France has the highest concentration of traitors and liars in the world. And when I leave my home country, I meet mostly indifference. Fortunately, I formed HaisevRand with a Russian/Estonian young friend. There are still lots of young men eager to learn among Europeans. I will go wherever needed in order to meet them.
Best bands per genre?
Vintage rock: the Beatles and the Doors.
Modern rock: Nirvana and Alice In Chains
Black metal: Darkthrone
Death metal: Entombed and Death
Thrash metal: Slayer
Punk rock: Sex Pistols and OTH
Could you recommend some equipment?
• Boss Katana amps are great for recording and rehearsing. Roland Cubes (Roland and Boss is the same brand and the Cube is the old brother of Katana) are decent too, depending on the model. Nothing beats the famous Mesa Boogie Rectifier, but you have to pay the price. I still use my old B52 60 watt valve amp.
• Shure SM58 are very efficient and not too expensive dynamic microphones.
• Fender strat-shaped guitars and basses usually never disappoint.
• Same for Marshall amp heads. I never got a bad tone out of a Marshall head.
• As for recording softwares, I would recommend Garage Band because it’s a Swiss knife. I still use Cool Edit Pro 2 because I’m used to it.
• I mostly use two picks: Jim Dunlop Nylon Standard 88 mm for tremolo picking and 73 mm for full chords.
You don’t need to buy expensive equipment as long as your instruments are reliable. It’s better to have one good and polyvalent guitar than several cheap guitars; it’s better to work with a real drummer than with a software or drum machine; it’s better to rehearse together in the same place than to work individually at distance; it’s better to record multiple drafts of a song and mature it in due time before to publish its official version; and you should be able to sing your songs a capella over the (acoustic or amplified) guitar before using a microphone.
